Programme Manager

The Nuba Relief, Rehabilitation and Development Organization (NRRDO) is an indigenous Non-Governmental Organization, exists to improve the livelihoods of the poor communities and to promote and defend the human rights and interest of the people of Southern Kordofan/Nuba Mountains. Its mandate is to raise funds and various support from well wishers in order to provide relief, rehabilitation and development services to the Nuba people. NRRDO‘s vision is to create a just and equitable society in which all the people of Southern Khordofan/Nuba Mountains State lead a dignified life. The organization is looking for a competent candidate to fulfill the position of Program Manager.

Duty station: Kauda. With frequent travels within Southern Kordofan state.

Key responsibility:

Under direct supervision of Executive Director the Program Manager is expected to provide the overall leadership in NRRDO program activities. He/she is expected to:
1. Develop NRRDO Program in line with its strategic plan
2. Initiate proposals for possible fund raising.
3. Participate actively in the participatory annual budget planning process.
4. Ensure there are updated systems and processes for project implementation, monitoring of activities, results, impacts and budgets at program and project level.
5. Ensure timely submission of quality (narrative and financial) reports to funding partners.
6. Carry out quarterly monitoring visits of all NRRDO projects.
7. Establish relationships with other development agencies/networks for the purpose of furthering NRRDO goals.
8. Participate in monthly coordination meetings (MCM) at state level.
9. Train/mentor/coach program/project staff on all aspects of program/project work to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in project implementation and; sustained impact of project benefits.
10. Supervise program staff, carryout performance appraisal to all NRRDO sector heads and review performance appraisal reports of other NRRDO staff.
11. Ensure NRRDO policies are implemented and adhered to by staff
12. Facilitate donor visits, donor round table meetings and other visits as necessary.
13. Carry out any other activities as may be directed by the director.

Qualifications & Experience:

• A Bachelor degree in Social Sciences or its equivalent with minimum three (3) years relevant experience in a similar position preferably in an NGO environment.
Or
• A Diploma in Programme Management, Community Development or it’s equivalent with a minimum five (5) years relevant experience

Skills:

• Excellent working knowledge of word and excel computer applications.
• Fluent spoken and written Arabic and English

a) Have exemplary Customer relations' skills
b) Have an IT-based degree (or diploma) with proven work experience of at least 3 years in similar field
c) Mature to handle cash of upto Kshs. 500,000/- per day.
d) Book keeping skills
e) Merchadising and organizational skills as the job requires one to master complex details
f) Goods Salesmanship skills.(although the Shop Manager is not required to go look for new customers, the people who visit the shop need to be sold to.)
